Angelica archangelica
Properties:
Angelica essential oil has medium viscosity and is extracted from rhizome, seeds & herb itself.
Origin:
It was originated in Africa & was introduced in Europe, Asia & Soviet Union. it is found in German, Scotland, Holland & Lapland.
Extraction Method:
The oil is extracted from the roots, rhizome and seeds and extraction method used is steam distillation.
Chemical composition:
Borneol, Linalool, Bergaptene, Limonene, Phellandrene, Pinene, Sesquiterpenes, Angelic acid, Sitosterol, Phenolic acids, Coumarins and Angelicin.
Therapeutic properties:
The therapeutic properties of Angelica essential oil are - antispasmodic, aphrodisiac, carminative, diuretic, emmenagogue, expectorant, hepatic, stimulant, stomachic, and a general tonic.
Uses:
Angelica essential oil can be used to help in the treatment of the following:
- dull congested skin
- irritation
- psoriasis
- accumulation of toxins
- arthritis
- rheumatism
- water retention
- bronchitis
- coughs
- gout
- anemia
- anorexia
- flatulence

- fatigue

Precautions:
- Angelica essential oil may over stimulate the nervous system.
- The essential oil extracted from the root can cause photo-toxicity which in turn could cause irritation if the skin is exposed to the sun.
- Safety during pregnancy should be taken.
- It should not be used by diabetics.

Basil, Chamomile, Geranium, Grapefruit, Lavender, Lemon, Mandarin & Patchouli.
