Sandalwood essential oil has a rich, balsamic, sweet fragrance with woody undertone. It is golden orange to pale yellow in colour. It has a medium viscosity.
Origin:
It originated in India.
Extraction Method:
It is extracted from the bark by the process of steam distillation.
Chemical composition:
Santalol, santyl acetate and santalene.
Therapeutic properties:
Antiphlogistic, antiseptic, antispasmodic, astringent, carminative, diuretic, emollient, expectorant, sedative and tonic.
