Winter Blues Comforter Aromatherapy Recipes



Lack of greenery, all gray skies, snow-covered world, reduced activity and the cold temperatures of winter can lead to what is known as the "Winter Blues". The Winter Blues involve the feeling of sadness, depression and the loss of energy. The below blends can help relieve the symptoms of the winter blues. Citrus oils are accentuated because they are energizing and uplifting oils. Orange, lemon and grapefruit oils apart from being inexpensive (especially orange) and are also favored by many people.


Aromatherapy Recipe #1

3 drops Orange essential oil
2 drops Grapefruit essential oil

4 drops Orange essential oil
1 drop Ylang Ylang essential oil

Aromatherapy Recipe #3

3 drops Orange essential oil
2 drops Ginger essential oil

Aromatherapy Recipe #4

3 drops Grapefruit essential oil
2 drops Cypress essential oil

3 drops Bergamot essential oil
2 drops Clary Sage essential oil

3 drops Bergamot essential oil
1 drop Neroli essential oil
1 drop Jasmine essential oil



Directions for Use

Select one of the recipes above. Mix all the ingredients together in a dark bottle, shake well. Now use any of the ways mentioned below.

Diffuser Recipe : Use appropriate number of drops from your recipe in your diffuser by following the manufacturer’s guidelines.

Bath Oil : Add about 15 drops of your chosen recipe in your bath oil. Mix well and use normally.

Massage Oil : Take 8 drops of your recipe and mix it with 20ml of carrier oil of your choice. Your massage oil is ready for use.

Air Freshener : Fill a spray bottle with either 1.5 ounces of distilled water and 1.5 ounces of alcohol or 3 ounces of distilled water. Then, add 30-40 drops of your chosen recipe. The aroma can change after the air freshener has had time to sit. Shake the bottle once prior to each use. Spray lightly in the room. Be careful not to allow the air freshener mist to fall on your furniture, food, beverages, etc.
